TC Men's Basketball Coach Resigns
Yesterday Chanslor "Champ"
Watson resigned his position as the Texas College Men's
basketball head coach citing personal reasons. Coach
Watson had been on an administrative leave of absence
since December 15th. In the interim, assistant coach
Matt Cross will be responsible for coaching the men's
program and Jay Brown, Texas College's Athletic Director,
will serve as the Director of Basketball Operations
Coach Brown commented
Wednesday about Coach Watson's resignation saying, "It
is unfortunate that Coach Watson had to resign, but
we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
We appreciate his efforts this season and understand
his need to do what's in the best interest of his family."
The Steers' next home
contest will be Saturday, January 13th versus Huston-Tillostson
at the John Tyler High School Gymnasium. The women will
play first at 4:00 and the men will follow at 6:00 pm.
