Texas College Choir Nominated for Stellar Awards HBCU Choir of the Year; Community Encouraged to Vote
TYLER, Texas — Texas College proudly announces that the Texas College Choir, under the direction of Mr. Charles Shaw, is being recognized in the inaugural Stellar Awards HBCU Choir of the Year category as part of the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
This historic moment marks the first time the Stellar Awards has introduced a category dedicated to honoring the excellence, tradition, and impact of HBCU choirs across the nation. The nomination places the Texas College Choir among distinguished programs celebrated for their musical excellence, spiritual inspiration, and cultural influence.
The Texas College Choir has become a pillar of artistic and spiritual expression on campus and throughout the East Texas community. Under the leadership of Mr. Charles Shaw, the choir has continued to uplift audiences through powerful performances, worship experiences, and community engagement while showcasing the rich musical heritage of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
