Texas College is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Senior Accountant/Grants Accountant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance;
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills;
• The ability to exercise discernment, to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information;
• Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Suite: (Outlook, Word, Excel);
• Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm; ability to use a computer, printer, copier, and ten-key calculator.
The individual must pass a background check (will be working with cash and credit cards).
REPORTS TO: Comptroller/Vice President for Business and Finance.
SUPERVISES: N/A.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Monthly, 12 months.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the development of financial reports and grant budgets.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review;
Work with the Comptroller and the Financial Aid Office in the reconciliation of student financial aid;
Work with designated staff in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Statement of Activities, Statement of Cash flows);
Work with Sponsored Programs and Grant PI’s in establishing program budgets; regularly review grant budget expenditures and provide updates to PI’s and Sponsored Program Office;
Prepare annual/quarterly financial reports for the College’s sponsored programs and grants and assist with year-end, grant-end closeouts;
Prepare requests for drawdown of sponsored/grant funds.
• Assist Sponsored Programs/Grants Payable with equipment orders, collection of bids, quotes, and estimates; assist with the collection of grant –related documents, reports, and requisitions. Reconcile grant travel reports.
• Communicate with students, parents, vendors, and other constituents of the College to resolve fiscal/financial issues.
• Assist with the billing of student accounts during semester/term registration periods.
• Other tasks as assigned.
