Dr. Dwight J. Fennell, 23rd President of Texas College, recently announced his retirement date for June 2026. With Dr. Fennell closing a 17-year tenure of service, Texas College will conduct a nationwide search to identify and appoint the 24th President of Texas College. As the search for Texas College's 24th President continues to evolve, more information will be provided through this webpage (www.texascollege.edu/tcps). The search is anticipated to formally begin in September or early October 2025. However, nominations and interested applicants may submit preliminary materials (e.g., letter of introduction, curriculum vitae) by email to: texaspresidentialsearch@texascollege.edu. When the formal application process begins, applicants who have submitted documents via the email address will be notified of any future requirements.

Founded in 1894 by ministers of the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church, now the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church, Texas College, one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), is a Liberal Arts, coeducational, private, and faith- based institution with open admission. Located in Tyler, Texas, Texas College has provided accessible, quality education to all for more than 131 years. The College offers 22 programs of study in the liberal arts, sciences, and educational preparation areas that allow students to receive the associate of arts degree and/or the baccalaureate degree. Texas College is a residential based campus that is also accommodating for commuting students. Further, the College has traditional face-to-face classes, as well as select online course and a distance education program in Business Education.
To supplement the academic experience and foster comprehensive development, Texas College's extracurricular offerings include more than 25 student organizations and 10 NAIA Division I intercollegiate athletics for men and women, as well as competitive esports.
Texas College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Texas College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Texas College is a Historically Black College founded in 1894, by the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church, now the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME). Our mission continues to embody the principles of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. The College shall prepare students with competencies in critical and creative thinking related to the knowledge, skills and abilities as defined in the areas of study using different modalities of instruction. Additionally, the College shall provide an environment to inspire intellectual, spiritual, ethical moral and social development, which empowers graduates to engage in life-long learning, leadership, and service.
